The Power of A Smile Challenge
The Power Of A Smile Challenge is open only to students at accredited Canadian dental schools who have reached the age of majority in their province/territory of residence at the date of entry.
Prizes: Two (2) prizes of $2,500 each will be awarded to two (2) dental students with the case studies that most closely meet the criteria.
How to Enter: Submit your case study, which must include: Full medical and dental history, Caries Risk Assessments Forms, Restorative and Periodontal Charting, X-Rays, and any diagnostic tool used to develop the treatment plan, complete treatment plan, oral hygiene recommendations and patient outcomes.
All patient images, names and identifiers must be blocked or deleted to mask the identity of the patient.
Judging Criteria: The submissions will be judged on:
1. Thoroughness of dental evaluation and treatment plan (30%)
2. Consideration of cultural and socioeconomic factors (20%)
3. Preventive evaluation and recommendations (30%)
4. Patient outcomes (20%)

Colgate CARE Program
Colgate-Palmolive is proud to offer the Colgate Award for Research Excellence (CARE). The CARE program is a 1-year research grant ($30,000.00 USD) to foster the development of first-time-in-career (0 to 5 years) academic oral health or dental researchers. The goal of the program is to advance oral healthcare therapies in the realm of basic science, translational science, and clinical care.
In order to be eligible to apply for the CARE grant, you must:
- Have a primary appointment as a full-time faculty at an accredited dental school in the USA or Canada
- Be in the first five years of your initial academic appointment
- Have additional sources of financial support for the proposed study

Colgate-Palmolive CDHA Dental Hygiene Academic Admission Scholarship
Awarded annually to a student with superior academic achievement entering First Year Dental Hygiene. Recipients are chosen by the school on the basis of superior academic achievement.
Value: Up to $500
Number: 1, per qualifying school, per academic year
To apply: Please contact your school's Dental Hygiene Program Coordinator.
Selection Method: Each school's Selection Committee will select the award recipient. The Committee will provide the recipient's name and a brief resume to the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association (CDHA). The CDHA will forward this information to Colgate-Palmolive Canada Inc. Application deadline: October 20.
Administration: This award is administered by the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association.
